ART HONOR SOCIETY
This society has been in existence for more than twelve years. It is specifically for students in grades 10 through 12. Its purpose is for inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. Advisor – Mrs. Proniewski

ATHLETIC TRAINING STUDENT AIDES

Students learn basic care of athletic injuries. They will work with Fall, Winter, and Spring sports teams. Advisor - Ms. Cearfoss

BOOK CLUB

Book Club is a group that meets bi-monthly. Students, faculty and staff are welcome to join. Books read and discussed are all young adult literature. Advisor - Ms. Steel and Ms. Hall
CHEERLEADING
They are the leaders of the spirit and enthusiasm of Northern's student body! The squads cheer and perform stunts and dance routines at specific sporting activities throughout the fall and winter. Advisors – Ms. Davis
CLASS COUNCILS
Students participate in Spirit Week activities, fund raisers for their senior trip, and other class activities under the direction of their advisor's. Any member of the class can participate. Meetings are schedule as needed during homeroom and/or after school.
  • Freshman Class Council (Ms Steel, Class of 2011 Advisor) This class has responsibilites which include the following: Homecoming and Spirit Week, the June Semi-Formal, begin fundraising for their senior trip and other class activities.
  • Sophomore Class Council (Mrs. Penna, Class of 2010 Advisor)
  • Junior Class Council Advisors (Mr. Newman/Mr. Pastore, Class of 2009 Advisor) This class has various additional responsibilities including; organizing the Junior/Senior Prom, and Senior trip planning.
  • Senior Class Council (Mrs. Lopez/Mrs. McWilliams, Class of 2008 Advisor) Additional activities include organizing the Winter Ball, organizing the Senior Trip, and planning various year-end activities.
COMPUTER CLUB
Once a week a computer lab is opened up to provide students to use the equipment for projects and activities that might not fit within the normal school day. Programming, graphics, digital photography, and access to vinyl cutting and laser engraving equipment are all available to computer club participants. The meetings currently are held every Wednesday in Room 104. Advisor -- Mr. Potts
D.E.C.A. (The Distributive Education Clubs of America)
D.E.C.A. is an integral part of the marketing program and is a vocational organization for students interested in pursuing marketing careers. DECA is an international organization with chapters in all fifty states and Canada. Local members participate in regional, state, and national conferences designed to further leadership, personal growth, and career success in all marketing-related areas. Advisor -- Mrs. Karch
DEBATE TEAM
Practices formal debating skills and competes interscholastically with surrounding secondary schools. Advisor -- Mr. Coleman
F.B.L.A. (Future Business Leaders of America)
F.B. L. A. is an integral part of the instructional program, provides additional opportunities for students in business education to develop vocational and career supportive competencies and to promote civic and personal responsibilities. Members are encouraged to participate on a monthly basis in activities designed to facilitate intelligent career choices, develop business skills, teach the value of community responsibility, and strengthen self-confidence. Activities, based on F.B.L.A. goals, fall into the following categories: professional, service, civic, financial, and social. Advisors -- Ms. McCaughey/Mrs. Nadolny
F.F.A.
F.F.A. is a co-curricular activity that is an integral part of the Agriculture/Horticulture program. Activities are designed to give students the opportunity to put the skills and knowledge learned in their Agricultural Science classes to practical use. FFA will benefit any student who is willing to invest some time and effort to improve, learn and have fun.

Because of the diversity of careers in the Agriculture/Agriscience/Horticulture industries, students of all academic levels can enhance their high school experience through participating in FFA activities for recognition and awards on the local, state and national levels.

F.F.A. can make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. There are three levels of membership: Local, State and National. Members meet monthly for business and recreation. FALL DRAMA
Students in grades 9 through 12 are welcome to participate in this drama production. Students are involved as actors, student directors, set designers, set painters, lighting and sound technicians, and stage crew members. Advisor -- Mrs. Gargus; Stagecraft Advisor—Mr. Fama

GREENHOUSE CLUB

The Greenhouse Club meets monthly to provide students, having special needs, an opportunity to explore greenhouse plant production and planting projects that cannot be sufficiently explored in allotted class time. Students are encouraged to produce living gifts, through propagation and nurturing, for family members and friends. All plant material is provided to participants at no charge. Students are also encouraged to grow plants of which they might have an individual interest. Greenhouse Club is open to any student having an interest in plants and greenhouses and also, open to those students interested in assisting special needs students with planting projects. INTERACT CLUB
This club is a happy medium between a social club and a service club and is sponsored by the Bordentown and Wrightstown Rotaries. Our service projects have provided assistance to people in all of our sending districts. Also, the club assists our sponsoring Rotary Clubs in any function needed. Advisor -- Mr. Wolverton/Mrs. Wright 
JAZZ ENSEMBLE
Students in grades 8 through 12 can participate. Rehearsals begin in October and run through April. Performances include evening concerts at school and competitions. Students are selected through audition. Advisor — Mr. Lindner

L.I.F.E (Lifetime Information For Everyone)

L.I.F.E. is part of the NJ Teen Prevention Education Program (Teen PEP). The course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills needed to conduct prevention outreach workshops and character education activities. This course takes the place of Senior Health & Physical Education. Students must apply for and go through an application process before being accepted into the program. As a peer educator, the student will be part of a network of young people around the state taking an active role in educating peers about sexual health and the consequences of risky sexual behavior. LITERARY MAGAZINE
The literary magazine, the Kaleidoscope, is published annually each spring. It is a collection of students' art work and writings from the school year. Advisors -- Mrs. Lovejoy/Mr. Uszaki
MARCHING BAND
The Marching Unit is open to students in grades 8 through 12, and includes instrumentalists that play as a part of the band, drum line, or pit percussion and other members as part of the color guard. The color guard does dance routines, flag twirls, sabre spins and rifle tosses to visually interpret the music that the rest of the unit performs. The Marching Unit is a year long activity that performs in competitions in and out of the state of New Jersey, at pre-game away and half-time home football games and local parades in the spring. During the fall hours, it is not unusual for marching unit members to spend 15-20 hours at rehearsal and another 10-15 hours at performances each week. Marching Unit members represent the school district at countless venues and serve as proud ambassadors at each opportunity. Advisors -- Mr. Pinto
MATH TEAM
The Math Team is a year-long activity (mainly months October - March however) which normally meets two times a month. The first meeting is a practice session and the second is an actual competition of math problem solving skills which is against other schools throughout Burlington County. These competitions are normally held at other school locations. Advisor – Mr. Newman
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
The Northern Burlington Chapter recognizes students who have achieved high levels of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. To be eligible, students must have a 91.0 cumulative G.P.A. at the end of the 2rd marking period of their junior year and must be accepted by the N.H.S. Faculty Council. Members conduct weekly tutoring sessions and sponsor various school activities. Advisor - Mrs. Lasko

PHOTOGRAPHY

All students in grades 9-12 are welcome to participate in the Photography Club. Students who have other extracurricular commitments such as Marching Band or sports may join the club when they are free. Students do need to have a camera and film (even a 35mm disposable camera will do).

This club is designed to meet the interests and ability levels of the members. Technical skills will be developed. The students will participate in photo shoots during club meetings and on their own time with the objective of capturing photos to submit for exhibitions. Advisor - Mr. Potts

QUILT CLUB

This community-service club gets together informally once a week during the school year to design and sew cotton quilts that are distributed throughout the area to seriously ill children in hospitals and to abused children in shelters. The club is a member of Quilts for Kids Inc., a national non-profit organization headquartered in Yardley, PA. No artistic or sewing skills are necessary to join. Advisor - Mrs. Lovejoy

RENAISSANCE PROGRAM

Renaissance is a national education-focused program created to recognize and reward the academic achievement of students. Students are also recognized for good attendance and efforts, meeting behavior expectations, and/or making a positive contribution to our school and community. Advisors - Mrs. McCaughey/Ms. Yu

SCIENCE CLUB

The Science Club aims to promote science education and career fields within the school community. The club offers interested Northern students the opportunity to engage in various science-related activities, including experiments, guest speakers, community service, and recreational outings. We welcome everyone interested in science and its applications. Advisors - Mr. Switzer/Ms. Watterson/Mrs. Wright
S.F.E.R.E.
This is an environmental awareness organization. Students design and participate in activities whose goals include raising awareness about issues in the environment, helping the school become environmentally friendly, and exploring topics concerning regional environmental issues. Participation in at least four club-oriented activities per year is expected of each member. Members meet bi-monthly. Advisors - Mrs. Sulon
S.T.O.P. (Students Together Opposing Prejudice)/UNITOWN
A student group that responds to human relation issues and progress solutions. Additionally S.T.O.P. plans, organizes, and implements special programs for interested members of the student body dealing with improved interpersonal relationships and school climate.
  • ANYTOWN - Selected senior high students that attend a summer training dealing with bias behavior and develop an action plan to help reduce prejudice in our schools. See: Mrs. Roberts
  • UNITOWN - Selected senior high students to attend a two-day offsite training program focusing on developing human relations and leadership skills to be utilized in helping to resolve one or more inter-group relations issues facing our school community. See: Mrs. Roberts
  • MANYTOWN - Selected senior high students attend school-based one-day youth leadership training. The program is designed to raise student awareness and interest in issues of diversity and prejudice reduction. Advisor - Ms. Lunenfeld
SPRING MUSICAL
The spring musical is open to all students in grades 9 through 12. Tryouts are held in December for all potential cast members. Students also participate in the pit orchestra, carpentry/painting crew, technical crew, lighting crew, and stage crew. Advisors - Mrs. Gargus 
STAGE BAND
Students in grades 8 through 12 are selected on an audition basis. It is a volunteer group which meets once a week and performs in one formal evening concert, a jazz festival, and one or two assembly programs. Advisor - Mr. Lindner
STUDENT COUNCIL
The purpose of this group is to develop student responsibility, initiative, leadership, and school pride; to help develop a feeling of unity among the grades (9 through 12); and promote the general activities of our school and community. Meetings are held monthly and are open to all. Advisor -- Mrs. Kotnarowski 
THESPIAN SOCIETY
An honorary drama club designed to reward participation in theatre productions. Requirements for membership: A student must have participated in at least two plays (at least one here at NBCRHS) and in at least two categories (performance, technical, and/or business). Members hold brief meetings, compete in competitions (including the 2-day State Thespian Festival), run Children’s Theatre Day, run Comedy Improv Nite, sell tickets and refreshments for the musical production, and go to a Broadway play. Participation in any of the above activities are voluntary. Advisor -- Mrs. Gargus

About us:
The Northern Burlington High School Video Production club is a student-based club intent on making channel 19 the best channel possible. Channel 19 is provided by our local cable provider for the Northern Burlington Public Schools as an educational channel.
 
What we do:
As a club, we provide training for our members on how to use Video Production equipment safely and properly, and also on how to edit the raw material we tape. We act as an organized group of volunteers willing to go out and tape school-related events. Students have created such projects as PSA's, Short films, Music Videos, NBC Sports videos, etc.
 
WEB TEAM
 
Do you enjoy designing web pages? Interested in digital photography? Would you like to learn some JAVA programming? Then the Web Team is an activity designed for you. Current projects include a series of pages focusing on local history and places of interest. Students are also encouraged to create their own web pages and digital portfolio. Advisor - Mr. Potts

WINTER GUARD

The Winter Guard includes students in grades 7-12. The activity meets from December to April, and performs in several competitions throughout the season. The Winter Guard is the indoor version of the Marching Unit’s color guard. The guard members perform dance routines, flag twirls, sabre spins and rifle tosses to visually interpret a piece of music, typically about 5 minutes long. The competitions take place in and out of the state of New Jersey during the months of February, March and April
YEARBOOK
The yearbook staff is responsible for the production of the Northern Light. After learning such marketable skills as layout design and use of the Yeartech computer program. Students are responsible for the scheduling, planning, and compilation of all photos and copy related to this school publication. Students meet daily during the homeroom period. Advisor - Mrs. Baker
